Indian deep rooted heritage and culture have been finding their place in the pages of history books for centuries. Indian civilization is one of the oldest of all the civilizations of the world and it requires ages go through the entire history in short time. Let's have a glimpse on the major Indian historical eras.

Pre-Historic Era

The historians still differ in their opinions while quoting about pre-historic era of India. The remains of the Harappa civilization which is still a big question mark to the world, carries the flag of ancient Indian civilization. This is the time when the biggest two epics Ramayana and Mahabharata were played in the real soil of India, where myth, legend and history seem to collide with each other. The composition of Upanishads are another gift to the generations to come.

Medieval Era

a new light of enlightenment and philosophy touched people as Lord Buddha arrived into the world and attained his salvation. The invasion of Alexander, rise of Mauryas and Ashoka dynasty are some of the other historical milestones which keep historians craving for more about medieval India. India reached a new height at this time while walking on the path pioneered by the Lord Buddha, Lord Mahavira and Shankaracharya. You will still find the heritage and culture of medieval era is still well preserved in the ancient temples and monuments.

Mughal Era

This is the time of successive dynasty and political disorder and commotion. The beginning of Mughal reign is the time when the country went through a huge social and cultural change. A new kind of architecture that revolutionized Indian traditions are still fascinating the world in the form of majestic Taj Mahal, Red Fort and Jama Masjid. The Rajput architecture in Rajasthan and Maratha forts in Maharashtra are the other attractions of this era.

Modern India

Modern India got a chance to interact with the western culture for the first time. Indian thinkers were not far behind to come up with their paintings, novels and poetry and the world acknowledged them with open hearts. After a long fight for independence, India attained sovereignty holding the hands of Mahatma Gandhi, one of the most prominent world leaders of all time. With the advent of British Rulers, India saw a new light of revolutions which is depicted in the rich colonial architecture fringed in every corner of the country. Now, India is a modern country with a globally open market, high-tech cities, excellent communication and ancient heritage.

Very recently I didn't get the chance to visit any place but the last destination I visited was Agra with my family. With all the monuments containing the historical importance within them, it's a place that leaves a deep impression on every visitor's mind. Buland Darwaza, Fatehpur Sikri, Agra Red Fort & most distinguishable of all, 7th wonder of the world "The Taj Mahal, attracts the interest of the all those people who love exploring new places and also possess the strategic importance in Indian History. The place is also not untouched by the Bollywood due to its scenic beauty and appeal. Taj Mahal, the symbol of Love attracts large number of tourists because of its association with human emotion called Love and the sheer beauty of the monument. Taking the religious feelings into consideration another place that attracts the visitors is the Tomb of Moinuddin Chisti, also at this place, situated is India's first Solar Clock. I think even these words do not enough to describe the beauty and appeal of the place, its quite an experience to experience the visit.

Dhauli Bhubaneswar - Land Filled With Sanctity and Peace

Recently I visited Dhauli, the Shantistupa (peace sentinel) which is 15km away from Bhubaneswar, capital of Orissa. It is a tourist place where the road connectivity is good. One can travel by private & Govt. buses or by hiring a taxi. Dhauli is a Buddhist destination surrounded by lush green area having natural set up. Owing to render special services, Govt. of Orissa & India have taken visible initiatives in building up Pantha Nivas and restaurants, with a view to maintain law and order and to advert any untoward accidents/disturbances, massive preconditions have been undertaken.

The historical reasons and facilities provided there, attract tourists from every nook and corner of the world. When King Ashoka won the Kalinga war in year 262BC defeating with unkind and blunt nature. He turned from 'Chandashoka' to 'Dharmashoka' after seeing the red color of Daya river water which was filled with the blood of kalings. In addition, its peace atmosphere, good connectivity, protection and security for tourists are the grand realities for which a traveler can visit Dhauli. Last but not the least, Dhauli was built by king Ashoka for the propagation of Buddhism which makes it an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination.

Taj mahal - Icon of Love

The Magnificent Taj Mahal

Recently I visited Taj Mahal, located at Agra. It is a place, where you find a soft sign of love, affection and great works. It is being counted in the seven wonders of world. It is being said that the great Mughal Emperor 'Shahjahan' made it in the memory of his wife 'Mumtaz mahal.' He loved her with great passion and dedication. The great architect 'Ustad Isha Khan' prepared the design. According to unknown historians, Isha Khan also loved Jahan Aara, the daughter of Shahjahan. That is why, he put everything in it. This monument was constructed in nearly twenty years. Millions of laborer and other persons made it with great passion.

A traveler always visits such place, which gives peaceful satisfaction and love to his mind. In every brick, there is story of love and only love. As in other way, it represents itself as a guide for every human. It is also great heritage for Indian Culture. When any president or prime minister visits India, he spends few hours time at this destination. He may be Bill Clinton or Vladimir Putin or other big personalities; they visited it during their journey. This shows that, every traveler should visit it during his travel to India.
