Foundation laid for Sikkim’s first airport

Surat Thani airport in Gujarat. FOUNDATION LAID FOR SIKKIM’S FIRST AIRPORT Airports Authority of India laid the foundation stone of a new greenfield airport at Pakyong, Sikkim, and inaugurated a new terminal building at Dibrugarh, Assam. Development works at the airport at Pakyong, which will operate ATR-72 type of aircraft, include the construction of a new terminal building, runway and apron with link taxi-track, fire station, technical block-cum-control tower and other associated works. The total cost of this project is estimated at Rs 310 crore.
