hot shot

Priest Kissing ShilpaOnce again, Shilpa Shetty is in the news for getting a kiss on her rosy cheeks. This time it is not Richard Gere but a temple’s priest. Actually recently she visited Sakhigopal temple and the priest of the temple became so happy with Shilpa’s visit that while blessing her, he gave a kiss on her cheeks. Some local people are also claiming that Shilpa has entered the temple with her shoes in. Two years back, Richard Gere had an impromptu hug and kiss with her during an event to promote safe sex and arise AIDS awareness program in India. After this Kissing event, a large number of protesters burned effigies of Gere on the streets of Kanpur, Meerut and Varanasi while shouting “down with Gere”.

would u like pizza of kareena:

Kareena KapoorHot and sexy Kareena Kapoor is more known for her size-zero figure than anything else. Our Indian girls have already idolized Bebo (nickname of Kareena) and are aspiring for Kareena type figure but it seems that corporate world is also mesmerized, as an International pizza chain has recently minted its new pizza as size zero pizza inspired by none other than our ravishing Bebo. This cheesy pizza will have a delicious thin crust but will not contain high calories thats why it is named as size zero pizza. Although she doesn’t have that size-zero figure anymore due to the requirement of her curves for her new film but she is more than happy to hear this news and said “I’m flattered that a pizza has been named after me.” She was out of country when this announcement was made and got to know this only by her sister Karishma Kapoor.

She herself follows a stern regime of dieting instructed by her dietician, she still doesn’t miss any chance to savor pizza whenever she has time and some spare calories. She once even argued that “it’s a misconception that cheese is unhealthy.” According to the sources Bebo has been a pizza fan for a long time. She was even on cheese diet for some time. It was revealed that once her mother had to fly to her shoot of film carrying pizza as she wasn’t getting them locally. So friends don’t forget to try this new size zero Kareena Pizza.

2 lakh engineer r unemployed in india

Need-Job-IndiaToday our Labour and Employement minister, Mallikarjun Kharge declared in Lok Sabha that nearly 2 lakh (200,000) engineers and 1.32 lakh (132,000) diploma holders were unemployed in 2007. He also said Government is planning to create 15 million jobs by the end of 11th Plan in public and private sectors. This year the number of unemployed engineers and diploma holders is likely to increase heavily due to current economic recession. In 2003, there were 82,000 unemployed engineers in India and in 2005 the number rose to 1.12 lakh (112,000) and due to IT book it fell to 48,000 in 2006. This is really a shocking news for engineers of India. Also, this figure has put a question mark on the quality of education in engineering colleges of India.

Let’s discuss one case study of a 16 years old 10th standard student of India.

I’m 16 years old studying in 10th class. My parents are pressuring me to be an Engineer it’s not even funny, lol. I try to reason with them and I really don’t understand why they think engineers are such “god-like” people, lol. I mean, I really love history and arts and can work well with money and finance and I like economics so I’m really interested in careers either in arts or commerce. I tell them all the facts of how I love these subjects, I tell them I love to do it, I’m good at it (I hate physics, chemistry. They don’t interest me), and I’ll be a lot better at something I enjoy. My parents say that getting an engineering degree will make my future secure. What the fuck?

Girl with big bagThis is common problem in Indian families. Parents put unnecessary pressure on their kids into studying and getting high careers. They want to make their sons or daughters doctor, lawyer, scientist, engineer so that they will earn high salary and have a top job in future. Now a day engineering degree has become the obvious choice of Indian middle class because of ever rising salaries and comfortable work environment for the engineers but in my opinion, parents need to see the interest and dreams of their children instead of forcing them to chase some mad rush of joining IITs, IIMs or NITs to become eligible for big MNC’s. If we allow our children to go for studying in which field they like they can do wonders.

There are some other reasons behind 2 lakh unemployed engineers in India.

  • Poor Quality of Engineering Education in private colleges and old Government Colleges — According to latest report only 25 % engineering graudates in India are employable, this means they can work in the industry and utilise their engineering knowledge. This is because of poor quality of education in engineering colleges. Government should take some steps to improve the quality of education in Indian colleges. Also the syllabus should be made par to the industry standards.
  • Entrance tests for Engineering colleges — Most of the students who join private engineering colleges have around 50 to 60% marks in their 12th standard. They also need not to face any entrance test due to plenty of private engineering colleges in Inida. Such students lack basic knowledge of English and Mathematics & Science. What should we expect from these students? Believe me more than 75 % engineers are not fit for industry. But we should not completely blame this 75 % engineers. Most of these students are forced by their parents to pursue career in Engineering

popular indian comics character

Indian ComicsReading comics is one of the most popular activites amongst small children and teenegers in India. I also spent my childhood, reading comics of Chacha Chaudhary, Nagraj, Super Commando Dhurv, Biloo, Pinki etc. I liked them very much. Now a days, I am feeling that these comics are slowly disappearing from book shops and railway book stalls. Now most of the comics publishers are more interested in spreading their business on internet as the children of current generation have become addicted to computers and internet. Most of the kids spend their free time in front of the computer and video games and hence they do not get chance to read comics and other story books.

History of Indian Comics

Aabid Surti was one of the early Indian comic authors. His 3 panel strips Dhabbuji which was based on the protagonist who is a lawyer by profession, used to publish in the magazine Dharmayug. Meanwhile, Indrajal Comics came up with characters like Phantom and Mandrake, but they were not 100 % Indian characters. Then came the goldern period of Indian comics, when Cartoonist Pran published the comic Daabu. Before this, most of the Indian magazines used to publish American comic strips on their pages.

Pran created many Indian Characters like Shrimatiji, Pinki, Billoo and the popular Chacha Chaudhary in the 1970s. These comics continued to be inspired mainly by newspaper strips and other American comic characters. Another notable Indian comic publishing house is Raj Comics, home of characters such as Nagraj, Doga, Super Commando Dhruva, Parmanu, Bankelal etc.

tata nano-india

industry-comments-on-tata-motors-nano-car.jpgSo friends the world’s cheapest car is out in the market with plenty of great features. It’s Nano, TATA’s Nano. It will go on sale later this year. Tata chairman Ratan Tata has called this car as People’s Car at the Auto Expo in New Delhi. It has been designed will meet all safety norms and all foreign environmental criteria

The 4-seater Nano, with an engine around 625cc, will have a dealer price of only 100,000 rupees ($2,500), about half the cost of the cheapest car on today’s market, which is maruti 800. .

tata-nano-standard.jpg

However it didn’t happen in one night. Tata planned the car years ago as a safer and more affordable alternative for the millions of middle-class Indians.

These are some specifications of Nano :

Length: 3.1 metres Height: 1.6 metres Width: 1.5 metres

Engine: Rear-wheel drive, 2-cylinder, 623 cc, multi-point fuel-injection petrol engine. Engine is rear mounted. Tata said it was the first time a 2-cylinder gasoline engine was being used in a car with single balancer shaft.

Safety: Tata said the Nano has an all sheet-metal body, with safety features such as crumple zones, intrusion-resistant doors, seat-belts, strong seats and anchorages, and the rear tailgate glass bonded to the body. Tyres are tubeless.

Environment: Tata said tailpipe emission performance exceeded current regulatory requirements, and the Nano had a lower overall pollution level than two-wheelers made in India. It said high fuel efficiency (20 km/litre) ensured low carbon dioxide emissions.

bollywood.jpgNow from today, 100rupees.com is no more on internet. I have set permanent redirection of 100rupees to my blog abhisays.com. Now I am concentrating only on my blog. Since 100rupees.com was related to movies and entertainment so I will try to publish some articles on abhisays related to movies and glamor world. In this regard, I have started a series on Indian actresses. This article is first part of a series of articles on Indian actresses. We live in a male dominated society. So Indian film industry is not its exception. Even in Hindi movies, actresses get less footage, less challenging roles and less money as compared to the co-actors but there are some female stars who have made their position and status in Hindi cinema which is comparable to their contemporary actors. This series is dedicated to those Indian actresses. I have divided the whole series into 7 parts which will cover all the popular Indian actresses right from 1950 to 2008. Writing on such a vast topic is not an easy task, thus this series will take a period of around 1 month to complete. Bollywood is heart of Indian cinema. Every year it produces hundreds of quality Hindi movies. After Hollywood, it is the largest film producer in the world. So it is very difficult to keep the track of all the Bollywood actresses but I have tried my level best to select some actresses from the huge list. Movies like Pyaasa, CID, Kagaz ke Phool, Awara, Mera Naam Joker, Mother India, Shree 420, Do Beegha Zamin marked the beginning of modern Cinema in India.
