Once again, Shilpa Shetty is in the news for getting a kiss on her rosy cheeks. This time it is not Richard Gere but a temple’s priest. Actually recently she visited Sakhigopal temple and the priest of the temple became so happy with Shilpa’s visit that while blessing her, he gave a kiss on her cheeks. Some local people are also claiming that Shilpa has entered the temple with her shoes in. Two years back, Richard Gere had an impromptu hug and kiss with her during an event to promote safe sex and arise AIDS awareness program in India. After this Kissing event, a large number of protesters burned effigies of Gere on the streets of Kanpur, Meerut and Varanasi while shouting “down with Gere”.

would u like pizza of kareena:
Hot and sexy Kareena Kapoor is more known for her size-zero figure than anything else. Our Indian girls have already idolized Bebo (nickname of Kareena) and are aspiring for Kareena type figure but it seems that corporate world is also mesmerized, as an International pizza chain has recently minted its new pizza as size zero pizza inspired by none other than our ravishing Bebo. This cheesy pizza will have a delicious thin crust but will not contain high calories thats why it is named as size zero pizza. Although she doesn’t have that size-zero figure anymore due to the requirement of her curves for her new film but she is more than happy to hear this news and said “I’m flattered that a pizza has been named after me.” She was out of country when this announcement was made and got to know this only by her sister Karishma Kapoor.
She herself follows a stern regime of dieting instructed by her dietician, she still doesn’t miss any chance to savor pizza whenever she has time and some spare calories. She once even argued that “it’s a misconception that cheese is unhealthy.” According to the sources Bebo has been a pizza fan for a long time. She was even on cheese diet for some time. It was revealed that once her mother had to fly to her shoot of film carrying pizza as she wasn’t getting them locally. So friends don’t forget to try this new size zero Kareena Pizza.

The highly awaited deal is done. It is a big deal for both the nations. After this deal, India has achieved an unique status as the only nuclear weapons power to be allowed global nuclear commerce without signing NPT or CTBT. It is certainly a great achievement for Manmohan Singh’s UPA Government. This deal has once again proved the importance of India as an emerging power with a stable democratic system on international front. It’s an unprecedented deal for India. I know you want to know more about the deal. Let’s point out highlights of this historical deal.
On 3rd July, Mamata Banerjee presented Indian Rail Budget 2009 in Lok Sabha. She started her speech with a question if Indian Railways, which runs the world’s second largest railways network under single management, should function purely on the basis of economic viability and address the social commitment. Banerjee said her focus would be on better passenger amenities, good food at affordable prices, clean toilets at stations and trains. Keeping her promise of social welfare and rural development, she has not increased passenger fares and freight tariffs. Experts have called this budget progressive and forward looking. This is her first rail budget for the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government and third in her political career. I have compiled some of the Highlights of Indian Rail Budget 2009.
Today our Labour and Employement minister, Mallikarjun Kharge declared in Lok Sabha that nearly 2 lakh (200,000) engineers and 1.32 lakh (132,000) diploma holders were unemployed in 2007. He also said Government is planning to create 15 million jobs by the end of 11th Plan in public and private sectors. This year the number of unemployed engineers and diploma holders is likely to increase heavily due to current economic recession. In 2003, there were 82,000 unemployed engineers in India and in 2005 the number rose to 1.12 lakh (112,000) and due to IT book it fell to 48,000 in 2006. This is really a shocking news for engineers of India. Also, this figure has put a question mark on the quality of education in engineering colleges of India.
This is common problem in Indian families. Parents put unnecessary pressure on their kids into studying and getting high careers. They want to make their sons or daughters doctor, lawyer, scientist, engineer so that they will earn high salary and have a top job in future. Now a day engineering degree has become the obvious choice of Indian middle class because of ever rising salaries and comfortable work environment for the engineers but in my opinion, parents need to see the interest and dreams of their children instead of forcing them to chase some mad rush of joining IITs, IIMs or NITs to become eligible for big MNC’s. If we allow our children to go for studying in which field they like they can do wonders.
Reading comics is one of the most popular activites amongst small children and teenegers in India. I also spent my childhood, reading comics of Chacha Chaudhary, Nagraj, Super Commando Dhurv, Biloo, Pinki etc. I liked them very much. Now a days, I am feeling that these comics are slowly disappearing from book shops and railway book stalls. Now most of the comics publishers are more interested in spreading their business on internet as the children of current generation have become addicted to computers and internet. Most of the kids spend their free time in front of the computer and video games and hence they do not get chance to read comics and other story books.

Now from today, 100rupees.com is no more on internet. I have set permanent redirection of 100rupees to my blog abhisays.com. Now I am concentrating only on my blog. Since 100rupees.com was related to movies and entertainment so I will try to publish some articles on abhisays related to movies and glamor world. In this regard, I have started a series on Indian actresses. This article is first part of a series of articles on Indian actresses. We live in a male dominated society. So Indian film industry is not its exception. Even in Hindi movies, actresses get less footage, less challenging roles and less money as compared to the co-actors but there are some female stars who have made their position and status in Hindi cinema which is comparable to their contemporary actors. This series is dedicated to those Indian actresses. I have divided the whole series into 7 parts which will cover all the popular Indian actresses right from 1950 to 2008. Writing on such a vast topic is not an easy task, thus this series will take a period of around 1 month to complete. Bollywood is heart of Indian cinema. Every year it produces hundreds of quality Hindi movies. After Hollywood, it is the largest film producer in the world. So it is very difficult to keep the track of all the Bollywood actresses but I have tried my level best to select some actresses from the huge list. So let’s start the journey and cover the period of 1950-1960. This period is known as the golden era of Indian Cinema. Movies like Pyaasa, CID, Kagaz ke Phool, Awara, Mera Naam Joker, Mother India, Shree 420, Do Beegha Zamin marked the beginning of modern Cinema in India. The top ten most beautiful Indian actresses in this period are –
Nargis — Nargis was the first most popular Indian actress. She is also considered as the greatest Indian actress of Indian Cinema. In 1949, she showed her talent with movies like Andaaz and Barsaat. After these films, she became super-star and with Raj Kapoor, formed one of the most successful and romantic pairs of India film industry. Her song Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua in “Shree 420″ with Raj Kapoor under one umbrella in heavy rain became the synonym of love and romance. The pair gave us films like Awaara, Aan, Shree 420, Chori Chori, Jagte Raho etc. In 1957, Mother India was released. It nominated for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The film was a huge success. Nargis played the central character “Radha”. It was a story of a Indian woman. It was a performance of a lifetime. Then she got married with Sunit Dutt and left movies. She died in 1981 due to blood cancer.
Nutan — Nutan is considered as India’s most sensitive and attractive actress. She performed almost every role with a certain moral superiority and grace. She was one of the top actresses of her time. In 1959 she starred in two hit films, Anari and Bimal Roy’s Sujata. Her other memorable films are Chhalia, Bandini, Saraswatichandra, Devi and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki.
Meena Kumari — She is known as the ultimate tragedy queen of Hindi films. In almost every film, she represented the character of sorrowful lonely woman whose desires have been suppressed by the cruel world. She took performance of female roles to new heights in Hindi films with her classic contributions including Parineeta, Baiju Bawra, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai, Dil Ek Mandir, Kajal, Phool Aur Pathar and Pakeeza. “Baiju Bawra” was her first super-hit film. In this film she performed the character of a woman who sacrificed her desires and dream for the material and spiritual advancement of the man she loves. Then she became second wife of famous film director Kamal Amrohi. Her married life was a big failure. She became tragedy queen in real life also. After giving her all time best performance in Pakeeza, she died in 1972.
Waheeda Rehman — Initially, Waheeda Rehman was a Telgu film actress. GuruDutt saw her talent and brought to Bombay to work in his movie, C.I.D. Then she played the central character in masterpiece movie Pyaasa, followed by classics like Kaagaz Ke Phool and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam. In DevAnand’s Guide she reached the peak of her career where she lived the role of a desperate housewife. She won the Film-fare Best Actress Award for her roles in Guide and Neel Kamal and National Award for Reshma aur Shera.
Vyjayanthimala — She was the first South Indian actress who became super star in Bollywood. She was not only a good actress but also a classical dancer. Before coming to Hindi films she acted in a few Tamil movies. She started her career in Hindi films with Bahar in 1951, a hit movie, primarily because of her dance performances. In Devdas she played the role of dancing girl Chandramukhi and won Film-fare award for Best Supporting Actress which she didn’t accept and said her role in that movie was that of the main actress rather than a supporting actress. The big success of Naya Daur made her super star. After Bimal Roy’s Madhumati she reached the peak of stardom. She won Film-fare awards for Best Actress in Sadhna, Ganga Jamuna and Sangam. After her last major hit, Jewel Thief in 1967, she retired from Hindi films.
